of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Visit Poverty Communities in
Phnom Penh

Mr.
SHUJI SATO, delegation of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affair visited
the projects’ field that have sponsored to poor communities cooperated
by Municipality of Phnom Penh (MPP) and funded by HSF (Humanity Security
Fund). After visiting the achievement at Dey Kroham community in
Chamcarmon district, Preak Tul community in Mean Chey district, Phum 23
in Toul Kork district, Vihea and Srah Trey community in Russey Keo
district and Preah Monivong A-B in Daun Penh district, the delegation
paid a courtesy call to H.E. CHIEV KIM HENG,
Vice-Governor of MPP, at 4 P.M. to indicate the pleasure of the
project’s achievements and provided the Government of Japan stance to
keep up the project "Phnom Penh - Partnership for Poverty
Reduction Phase II - Slum Upgrading" of the amount of
US$1,080,000. The project will be facilitated by the MPP with
technical assistance from UN-Habitat to support the upgrading
100 slums per year in Phnom Penh.
