A 2,020m road crossing Koh Dach village and Kbal Koh village was announced its reconstruction work during a ground breaking ceremony under chairmanship of H.E Governor KEP Chuk Tema on July 05, 2011 as promised during a religious ceremony at Kro Pom Pich Pagoda early this year.
Mr. SAM Piseth, Director of Public Works and Transport Department had reported that Sangkat Koh Dach, a 2,301.69ha island located along Mekong River, of which 1,350ha covered by farming spaces, population of 3,050 households equaled to 13,098 people. Most of their living was agriculture such as planting corn, beans, vegetables, rice and textile to make them better. The access roads surrounding this island were soil covered in total length of 39,950m, 5 bridges, and 2 canals which would be accessible to transport all agricultural products within island zone. However, the to-be-repaired road would be constructed under concreted pave with a length of 2,020m and 5m width, total size of 10,100m2 and 1m for each curb side; this work would be established by the Department of Public Works and Transport within a period of 90 days and used budget from the Capital Hall in the amount of 1,165,000,000 Riels.
Sangkat Koh Dach
During that event, H.E Governor had pointed out Capital Hall's responding to the people's request, the rehabilitation of a more than 2,000m road line was just a initiative step and a new event for the development of Koh Dach area since it was integrated into Phnom Penh territory and this work was based on the recommendation of the Toad's Step of Samdech Techo Prime Minister and it would facilitate people's transportation for their living condition. H.E Governor continued that the dream to have a bridge connecting from Koh Dach to Phnom Penh would be realized if we have a great leader as Samdech Techo that could assure every development aspect to make people delighted. Additionally, H.E Governor had appealed to all citizens to participate in Village/Sangkat Safety Policy, especially with gangsters; Sangkat Chief and Police Chief should well ensure of it and collaborate with school masters, deputy masters, teachers and parents. Then, H.E Governor had provided a 1.5 ton truck and 10KWA generator to Sangkat and 5 walkie-talkies to Police Office.
