Phnom Penh Joins Sister City Workshop in Busan

To tighten relationship tie between Busan and Phnom Penh Capital Hall, the former invited the delegation from Phnom Penh Capital Hall to join a friendship visit on the world`s best films convention, sea port and sister city workshop from 23 to 26 November 2011 in Korea.

The workshop on 24 Nov. 2011 was attended by representatives from 5 cities which are from Auckland (New Zeland), Shanghai and Chongging (China) and Phnom Penh, Mumbai (India, absent). Phnom Penh delegation presents on-going infrastructure achievements, especially international cooperation with sister cities always closely cooperate among each other toward fruitful results. Furthermore, Busan City in the name of sister city with Phnom Penh Capital Hall is planning to dispatch medical doctors to Phnom Penh in coming December 2011. After that, representatives of Phnom Penh paid a courtesy call with deputy governor of Busan, and he appreciates the development of Phnom Penh which came across bitter experiences.

As scheduled, Phnom Penh delegation visited major places in Busan, the Busan film committee is responsible for providing locations and film related equipment for all type of films production and visited 9-storey and 54,335m2 theater consisting of 3 big cinema rooms, 5th top of the world sea port which can load 14.18 Million containers in 2010. The improvement project of the port started since 2008 and is scheduled to finish in 2015 which will become a center for commerce, economics, tourism and the world sea port. After that, the delegation visited the biggest seashore in Korea, a place for high class delegation visit, Yongdusan Park with a famous army commander statue, Busan Tower located in the central are of Busan and 120m panoramic view, especially Tsushima island of Japan can also be captured by eyes.

It should be highlighted that Busan is on the land area of 765m2 with 3.6 Million population, the second biggest city in Korea and singed sister city memorandum of understanding on 11 June 2009. This indicates a new achievement in terms of cooperation tightening between the two countries.
