Addressing in that occasion, on behalf of the association, Mrs. TEMA Vichekal has been delighted to meet face to face with orphans while the world is celebrating Valentine’s Day which this culture flew into Cambodia, and many children think it is a sweetheart’s day—a day that the partners can do everything for each other by ignoring culture. In contrast, it is a day that we give love to people around us, such as parents, siblings, instructors and so on. Furthermore, Mrs. also appealed to all children as well as all youths not to do things that run counter to Khmer culture or what the public views it as something unacceptable, which means that children must be adhesive to our good culture and tradition always. Mrs. added that all orphans who are living in this center must have good solidarity, love and help each other as stated that, “At home different mothers, but only one mother in the jungle” , and they must listen to teacher instructions or advises and regard them as their own parents. Also, they must study hard and complete all levels of education so that they can use the knowledge and turn themselves to be a good citizen, and a strong pillar for the society in the future.
The donations brought by youths included 10 barrel of cookies, 10 bottles of soft drink (3 litter each), 200 sachet of instant energy rice soup, 50 Thousand Riels to each instructor and the preparation of porridge for breakfast. The donations also comes from Lork Chumteav Ngoeun Phallin Pothida, President of Singapore International School of Phnom Penh, SIS, including 5 Notebooks, 2 pencils, 4 pens, 1 shirt and 5 Thousand Riels to each orphan during that event.
