100th Anniversary of International Women's Day, March 08 under the topic of "Youths help women means helping themselves and the nation" was celebrated on March 03, 2011 at Capital Hall; Lork Chum Teav CHUM Samin KEP Chuk Tema, Chairwoman of Phnom Penh Women Association for Peace and Development has extended her appreciation to the responsibility and efforts of all Capital officers who always help to facilitate the working process of women smoothly, progressively and prosperously.
After reading the history of International Women's Day, March 8 by Mrs. CHAN Sacheata, there was an official announcement of the 9 members of the Women Association for Peace and Development based in the Capital Hall, Mrs. KIM Sethany, Director of Legal Affair and Human Rights Division nominated as the Chairwoman for that association, has determined to try all best effort to increase the numbers of association members in the Capital Hall by following the regulation, social moral and strengthening the good solidarity to work closely with all men in implementation of all tasks of Capital Hall; particularly this association will play its role to uplift women in the society through moral education, women' s value and Khmer family in order to be a back born of economy and society.
Lork Chum Teav CHUM Samin KEP Chuk Tema has addressed that, this ceremony is celebrated to remind of the struggling to claim for 3 basic rights of women workers who were seriously cracked down in the late 19 century and earlier of 20 century until they could receive equal rights and rights for maternity and children. Moreover, Lork Chum Teav has appealed to all women to continuously cooperate with all relevant agencies especially to build up women capacity to become a value resources and unavoidable partners for the Capital Hall; particularly in the implementation of Village-Sangkat Safety Policy
