Andong Community To Become A Role Model Through Its Partnership

Andong Village community in Kork Roka Commune (Posenchey District) has continuosly recieved supports from an american organization named People for Care and Learning including infrastructures improvement and other achievements such as building appropriate homes and training centers. A partnership with this NGO has helped Phnom Penh Capital Hall achieving its development plan, which is a humanitarian activity for Andong Villagers who are facing difficulties and shortage.

Through a dialogue with Deputy Governor Mr. NOUN Someth in January 24, 2012, Mr. BIEN RANESES, Director of People for Care and Learning to Cambodia Southern Part, said that his organization will continue its development support to this community until it becomes a model community in Phnom Penh. The organization will plan around 2 Million US Dollars to restore infrastructures step-by-step including the construction of entrances, sewage system, light poles, health centers, gardens, markets and more homes, and he also requested Phnom Penh Capital Hall to handle with land issue so as to expand the area bigger for infrastructure development purposes.

In the meeting, Mr. NOUN Someth has appreciated People for Care and Learning for its humanitarian supports, stressed that the organization is a development partner with Phnom Penh Capital Hall in contribution to poverty alleviation in Phnom Penh which could better serve the poor in terms of community organizing and fundamental infrastructures development for the community and so forth.
