Project Information

Site Location: starting from the Japan-Cambodia Friendship Bridge to Sokha Hotel located in Chroy Chang Va Commune, Russey Keo District;
Project Owner: Phnom Penh Capital Hall;
Constructor: A Contractor by Sokha Hotel Company;
Technical Monitoring by: Department of Public Works and Transport;
Duration: 18 months;
Start - To Complete: June 2011 - November 2012;
Budget:​ 18,272,347.00USD Embankment Construction, plus​ 2,870,000.00USD for side roads, garden, lighting establishment.
Brief Technical Solutions: According to the presentation of the engineer of Tieng Phong Structure, the embankment would be divided into 2 segments as below:

• Segment 1 ៖ From the Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge to garden of Sokha Hotel with a length of 1,700m, the location of weak soil condition, high cliff which indicate frequent land slide, would be built with the Vertical Embankment (Concrete Sheet Pile) method, therefore it would be costly and complicated;
• Segment 2 ៖ Connected from 1st segment up to the cape of riverbank with a length of 1,200m with low slopes, therefore, the Slope Embankment method would be employed.

Work Accomplished so far:

• Resolved the temporary illegal 111 shelters along the river bank;
• Removing 63 trees for the construction side;
• Constructed safety fence for the construction surrounding about 2,400 meters out of 3,000 meters
• Constructed access roads for engines 1,350 meters
• Applied the pile sheet with 700mm, 500mm, 400mm diameter into 12meters deep, 15 meters deep and 18 meters deep: 57 pile sheets

Results reach 60% of the projected with activities below:

Sloping work to make access road for a lenth of 3,000m (100%)
• Transporting of 4,578 pilling pilars and pilling steels
• Pilling steel work of SW30: 1,208 sheets
• Pilling steel work of SW400: 1,157 sheets
• Concrete casting for crossbar and slope of 2,395m:

• Riverbank type 3: 1,220m concrete casted.
• Riverbank type 2: 1,180m concrete casted
• Riverbank type 1: 600m concrete casted

• ​Pilling work of 700mm, 500mm and 400mm for about 1,577m
• Concrete casting of gravel for 925m
• ​Road pavement work:

• Leveling work of about 758m
• Instalation of stone (M40) to be as 1st basement (6m width) for about 540m
• Removing of bad soil of about 200m
