The controvery in Garment Factory in August
August 2, 2005: 200 workers at OSPINTER garment factory located on National Route 2 at Sangkat Chakangrel Krom, Khan Mean Chhey assembled near Samdech Hun Sen's house_ the east of Independent Monument in order to ask Samdech Hun Sen to deal with their labor fees after the factory closed the door and the owner didn't pay their salary on July 14, 2005.
August 4, 2005 : 46 workers at Dayon garment factory located at Phum Samki, Sangkat Reussey Keo, Khan Reussey Keo fainted due to the environment around the factory while they were working. On August 5, 2005 about 1000 workers of United Art garment factory located at Phum Kbar Dumrey, Sangkat Kakab,Khan Dangkor hold a strike to demand July and August's fees. In the early day, 17 more Dayon garment factory workers fainted.
August 10, 2005 : Mixed committee for dealing with garment factory controversy made factory inventory and took legal action for employer who closed its door without paying the fees for workers. On August 15, 2005 nearly 200 workers of ASIA Thmey garment factory located at Phum Reussey, Sangkat Stung Mean Chhey held a strike in order to demand 16 working conditions. In the day, about 17 more Dayon garment factory workers located at Sangkat Reussey Keo, Khan Reussey Keo fainted while they were working.
August 17, 2005 : About 1000 workers at O SAYANG garment factory located at Phum Prey Trea, Sangkat Chomchao,Khan Dangkor hold a strike to demand 6 working conditions.
August 24, 2005 : About 350 workers at DAMINTHAV EN Enterprise Limited garment factory located at Phum Tropantlung, Khan Reussey Keo assembled in front of the factory to demand 12 working conditions.
August 26, 2005 : About 800 workers of JK garment factory located at Sangkat Toul Sangkel, Khan Russey Keo held a strike to dismiss director of factory and to demand 15 working conditions . In the day, 500 of 1000 workers at FAJIC garment factory located at Phum Preytrea, Sangkat Chomchoa, Khan Dangkor held a strike to accept two workers who have been fired from their work and to demand 14 conditions of work.
