• Night Market Opens in Phnom Penh

A Night Market located in front of Oukna Loam Pagoda, in Daun Penh District, Phnom Penh was officially opened for its first time on November 09, 2007 under the presidency of H.E Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, H.E KEP CHUK TEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh and his wife along with national and international guests. The Minister of Tourism said, « The Night Market was firstly established through the efforts of H.E KEP CHUK TEMA in line with Samdech Prime Minister HUN SEN’ S recommendation». Speaking at the ceremony the Governor said, « The goal of establishing the Night Market is to uphold tourism field in accordance with the policy of poverty reduction and promote Khmer products particularly to promote «One village, one Product».
