On March 05, 2007 the Municipality of Phnom Penh marked the 97th anniversary of Women’s Rights Day March 8 celebration in the theme of « Provide an Opportunity and Support Women to Become a Leader » under the chairmanship of Lork Chumteov MEN SAMON, Senior Minister and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Inspection and a president of Women’s Cambodia Association for Peace and Development, H.E KEP CHU TEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh and his wife. The ceremony also attended by senior officials and some 1.100 female officials.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Governor expressed his thanks and admiration to female officials for having done well for the City Hall. « The present of Lork Chumteov today is an indication of intimacy and unity and this give encouragement to female officials to have more confidence» said the Governor.
