The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of 2 community hygiene, 12 latrines, a pumping well and a rubbish dump for the poor of Phoum Andoung community donated by LIEN AID SINGAPORE was held on Saturday, June 09, 2007. The ceremony was also attended by Khan chief, deputy Khan chief, involved departments, teachers, students and residents under the chairmanship of H.E Mann Chhoeurn, vice governor of Phnom Penh municipality and on behalf of H.E Kep Chuk Tema, governor.

In line with poverty reduction policy of Samdech prime minister HUN SEN, His Excellency Mann Chhoeurn, vice governor of Phnom Penh municipality, expressed profound thank to LIEN AID SINGAPORE to help construct the community hygiene, latrines, a pumping well and a rubbish dump for our poor people of Phoum Andoung community which costs over 30.000 USD.

The Municipal Cambodian Red Cross provides 30.000 USD for housing, small business and motor Tuk Tuk loan for the poor people of Phoum Andoung community. H.E Mann Chhoeurn gave a sewing machine for the vocational training. He also gave plastic tents donated by ADRA to 21 families and 500.000 Riels for six women who just have babies and old people who have diseases. He told the people not to gamble and reduce alcoholic drink. They should save money so that we can afford to provide them the housing and small business loan.
