On July 19, 2007 the Municipality of Phnom Penh held a ceremony to hand over candles and some necessities to 86 pagodas in Phnom Penh. The ceremony was held at Bo Tom Votey Pagoda located at Tonle Bassac Commune, Chamkamon district in the presence of H.E KEP CHUK TEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh Municipality, his family and city hall officials. A representative of Phnom Penh Department of Cults and Religion said, on behalf of the 86 pagodas, he extended his gratitude to Phnom Penh Governor who brought candles and some donations to the Buddhist monks in time of need.

Each pagoda received a pair of huge candles, 30 liters of fuel, 6 packages of instant noodles, a package of canned fish, 25 kilograms of sugar, a package of milk and pure drinking water and 100,000 Riels.
