- Phnom Penh Prepared for Flooding

The Municipality of Phnom Penh on August 20, 2007 held a meeting to disseminate measures to be prepared for possible flooding in Phnom Penh in the presence of H.E NHIM VANDA, First vice-president of the National Committee for Disaster Management, H.E MAP SARIN, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh and City Hall officials.
The meeting dwelled on the assigning of an emergency-flood response team at flood-prone areas along rivers in the seven districts in Phnom Penh, particularly in Dangkor, Mean Chey, Reusseykeo and Daun Penh District. H.E MAP SARIN said, « This year is a remarkable year some countries were hit by flooding and it causes serious damage to property, many animals and human lives.
