In response to the letter dated September 22, 2006 of Citynet Secretary –General Mr. Dato Lakhbir Singh Chahl, the Municipality of Phnom Penh has the great honor to inform Governors of District, and Sangkat/Commune councils, school headmasters, and civil society organizations throughout Phnom Penh that the Municipality of Phnom Penh has achieved great results in implementing the policy of poverty alleviation in line with the rectangular strategies of the Royal Government of Cambodia with Prime Minister Samdech HUN SEN as head and in accordance with the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals with the participation of national and international circles in Phnom Penh.
To achieve this, the Municipality of Phnom Penh would like to call on all above-mentioned institutions as well as civil society organizations to launch STAND UP Campaign against poverty by gathering people, member of the public, students, officials and staff members in their own institutions, organizations and schools and carrying banners with slogans in conformity with the campaign to be held on 15-16 October 2006 at 10.00 A.M and send reports on the number of participants with two photos enclosed to the Municipality of Phnom Penh before 11.00 A.M on October 17,2006 so that it can do final reports and forward them to the Citynet Secretary General for Guinness World Records registration.
The Municipality of Phnom Penh firmly hopes that the directors of all departments, institutions as well as civil society originations at all levels will jointly support the campaign to make it a success.
