On November 15, 2006 H.E KEP CUK TEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh presided over the launch of reconstruction project to widen Russian Federation Boulevard by three meters on each sides in an attempt to reduce traffic congestion. The road will be widened from Phres Kosomac hospital to the Choam Chao ring road at an expected cost of $ 2.07 million. «All payment is in city hall’s budget » the Governor said. Construction should be completed within 140 days and will allow for three lanes of cars in each direction, said Nhem Saran, the director of Phnom Penh’s department of municipal public work and transportation.
