- Closing Ceremony for Partnership for Urban Poverty Reduction Project (Phase II)

On June 14, 2006 the Municipality of Phnom Penh held closing ceremony for Partnership for Urban Poverty Reduction (PUPR). The ceremony was presided over by H.E KEP CHUK TEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh, H.E MANN CHHOEURN, Vice Governor of Phnom Penh. The event was also attended by Mr. TAKAHASHI Fumiaki, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, international agency representatives, NGOs, chairman of communities and City Hall officials. The achievement of PUPR projects were in line with national strategies which were declared by Samdech Prime Minister HUN SEN. The strategies intended to improve the living standard of the poor in all 100 communities. As instructed and under the leadership of H.E KEP CHUK TEMA, the City Hall founded an organization in charge of the poverty in Phnom Penh, including the strategies which were formulated in urban development strategy, government’s rectangular strategy and Cambodia Millennium Development Goal.
