Minute Of Meeting With Poor People Living
in Som Bok Chab Community in Trapaing Anhchagn

     On July 4th, 2006 at 8.00 am H.E Mann Chhoeun, vice governor of the Municipality of Phnom Penh lead a delegation from the municipality to visit the poor people who live in Sombok Chab community which was relocated from Tonle Basac to Trapaing Anhchagn in Trapaing Krasang commune, Dangkor district, Phnom Penh City. To join in event time were Mr. Ros Sokha, Technical Advisor of Seila Program; Deputy Chief cabinet of Phnom Penh Municipality; PUPR staff; Mr. Kattri, ACHR representative; and Mr. Soom Sak from UPDF. During his visit H.E Mann Chhoeun requested to those poor people to understanding the good intention of Municipality. The Municipality is trying to develop their life living in standard. Obviously today H.E vice governor received contribution from Samdech Prime Minister Hun Sen 88,000,000 Riel to UPDF for distributing housing loan for poor people, which means that each family receives 500 USD for building proper house. Whereas, those families who already have proper houses, we will not offer housing loan, but we will provide micro- credit for small bossiness. Likewise, the City Hall will offer loan for transportation to the community to reduce their expense on transportation to do their business in the city. The meeting was pleasure and welcomed from poor people also made them believe in the municipality’s concern. People in the community strongly hope that their community will improve and development as soon as in the nearest future.
