Minute of Meeting on the Housing Development
for the People in Sambok Chab Community Relocated from Tonle Basac
in Khan Chamkarmorn to Khan Dangkor
On July 4th, 2006 at 14:30 at the City Hall there was a meeting on the housing development and management of the Sambok Chab community which was relocated from Basac area in Khan Chamkarmorn to live at Trapaing Anhchagn village in Trapaing Krasang commune and Andoung village in Sangkat Kork Roka of Dangkor District in early June last month. The meeting was presided by H.E Mann Chhoeun, vice governor of Phnom Penh with the presence of Chiefs and Deputy Chiefs of specialized departments and Deputy Chief of Khan Dangkor and Khan Chamkarmorn.
In the meeting H.E vice governor requested to all concerned departments to pay attention on the development to help poor people on facing difficulties base, HE. asked to each department relevant for support. This is to contribute of the poverty reduction strategy of the government and also to implementing follow up to the strategy of UN- Humanity and UN-Habitat.
After the discussion in detail of the meeting, we found some of their difficulties problem such as: clean water supply, electricity, road, drainage system, health care service, education, school, housing loan, and small business loan.
Afterwards H.E vice governor requested to the concerned departments to contribute their knowledge as much as possible for the purpose of developing those community. The meeting was concluded as follow:
1. Department of Water Resource will work in cooperatively with UNICEC and Water Supply Authority for the supply of water connection to this community.
2. Department of Public Works and Transport agree to dig a canal and construct road to release the water from the flooded area in Trapaing Anhchagn community
3. Department of Health will provide health care service, mosquitoes preventing spray, cloramine distribution for putting in the water, and collaboration with UNICEC to build health care center
4. Department of Education will survey data base of students , support school building and classes for students.
5. Department of Social Affairs will provide 4 months on training courses to the 20 widows and old women in both place and will provide materials for them to do business
6. Department of Women’s Affairs will work with ITM for providing education on sex service, and vocational training to the women
7. Department of Land Management will design and estimate cost of the sample house which is cheaper and affordable with the size of 4m x 8m for the community
8. Khan Dangkor will observe and share plot of land for the remaining people in Phum Andoung and also request to the company to build a place for burn the garbage .
Even though we get support from all relevant departments, we still have some other remaining difficulties; therefore, we need other local and international NGOs and donors to help upgrading this community. H.E vice governor is preparing to arrange another meeting on Friday July 07, 2006 with other local and international NGOs in order to find partner to work on this community development. |
