• Offering of Candles and Foods to Buddhist monks from 86 Pagodas

On July 06, 2006 the Municipality of Phnom Penh offered candles and foods to various monks from 86 pagodas in Phnom Penh at Botom Votey pagoda. The offering ceremony was attended by H.E KEP CHUK TEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh, Vice Governor and several authorities at all level.

To begin with, Mr. NGET CHANBORYBO, Director of Phnom Penh Department of Cults and Religion delivered a speech and read reports on religious affair.

Next, there were and offering of candles and foods to monks. Each received 2 candles, 230,000 riels and large mount of foods. The City Hall also provided Saravan Pagoda boys with two tons of rice. The amount of 11.750.00 riels and US$ 21.150 and the large amount of foods were donated from the Governor of Phnom Penh, HUN NEANG, District offices, Departments, Municipal Treasury, Market Committees and other private benefactors.

The meeting ended at 15.00 pm. in a cordial atmosphere.
