• Signing Ceremony for Flood Protection and Drainage Improvement Projects (Phase II)

The Municipality of Phnom Penh held a signing ceremony for Flood Protection and Drainage Improvement Project (Phase II) between the Municipality of Phnom Penh represented by H.E. KEP CHUK TEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh Municipality and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) represented by Mr. KAZUHISA A KAI. The project to be signed focused on 5 important projects as follows:

1. A project to improve 1500-meter long river bank from Micasa Hotel to the west of the Bassac River.
2. A project to upgrade flood protection and drainage systems around the Central Market
3. A project to repair flood protection and drainage systems around the Royal Palace
4. A project to improve flood protection and drainage systems around Wat Phnom and
5. A project to improve a drainage system and repair streets in Boeung Tra Bek

The Governor took the opportunity to express his deepest sincere thanks to the people and government of Japan for the grant provided throgh JICA to improve drainage systems in Phnom Penh.
