Chamkamon District is regarded as a model district among the 7 districts in Phnom Penh because the local authorities have tried their best to mobilize the people to construct the roads under the leadership of H.E KEP CHUK TEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh. In 2005, Chamkamon district built 68 roads out of which 33 roads used the 50+50 cost-sharing formula. Seven other road were financed by the local residents with an additional 6 road financed by Sangkat developed budgets. Furthermore, 11 roads are paid for by City Hall budgets with another 8 concrete roads by private benefactors and finally, one road from ADB budget.
