• City Orders Construction Shops to Relocate

Phnom Penh Municipality has ordered the relocation of all construction material shops situated along the city’s main roads in a bid to ease traffic congestion. The first shops to be targeted will be those along Russian Boulevard and Mao Tse Tung Boulevard, said Phnom Penh Governor KEP CHUK TEMA, adding that jams are caused when the materials are loaded and unloaded into vehicles outside the shops. Mr. LOU YUY, Chamkar Mon district governor, said he will organize a meeting for the shop owners in the district next week, where they will be educated about storing construction materials on their premises, and asked to relocate to the outskirts of the city.
