H.E PA SOCHEATVONG, Vice Governor of Phnom Penh, representative of H.E KEP CHUK TEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh chaired a permanent meeting on December 4, 2006. During the meeting, the Vice Governor said the ground breaking ceremony of a new Monivong bridge will take place on December 21, 2006. With support from Prime Minister Samdech HUN SEN, the Municipality of Phnom Penh decided to build a new Monivong bridge to ease traffic. H.E PA SOCHEATVONG praised Mean Chey district authorities for trying their best to find a proper solution to businessmen in Kbal Thnol market and residents of 36 families living on the East of the bridge with a peacefully means.
