On August 09, 2006 The Municipality of Phnom Penh held a handing-over ceremony of 10 used dump trucks donated by OSAKA city, Japan. The trucks were a Grass Roots Assistance on Solid Waste Transportation Project. The event was presided over by H.E KEP CHUK TEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh, H.E FUMIAKI TAKAHASHI, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, Mr SUSUMU SHIMURA, a representative of JICA Study Team on Solid Waste Management in Phnom Penh Municipality. The ceremony was also attended by several City Hall Officials. The goal of hand-over trucks is to conserve the urban environment and improve the living condition of Phnom Penh citizens. The Governor took the opportunity to express his profound gratitude to the government and the /people of Japan who always contribute to developing Phnom Penh city.
