At the invitation of H.E YURI-M-LUZHKOV, Governor of Moscow, a delegation led by H.E KEP CHUKTEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh Municipality made a 5-day visit to Moscow from 23rd to 27th September 2005. During the visit, the Phnom Penh delegation had talks with MIKHAIL A-MEN, Vice governor of Moscow, and other senior Russian officials and the discussions also attended by H.E CHUM SUNRI, Cambodia ambassador to Russian. focused on co-operation between the two cities on waste treatment, recycling, the environment, disaster management, culture, heritage conservation, visit exchange.
The delegation also exchanged views on managerial experience which involved transportation and communication, housing management, community services and the delegation also visited the underground metro systems. To further the cooperation, H.E KEP CHUKTEMA, Governor of Phnom Penh Municipality, invited H.E YURI-M-LUZHIKOV, Governor of Moscow, to visit Phnom Penh city in 2006–the 50th anniversary of diplomatic tie between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Russian Federation.
