• The Government Examines a Draft Law on Real Estate Taxes in Phnom Penh

On December 2, 2005 office of the Council of Ministers held a meeting on a draft law on financial management for 2006 and state budget allocation for 2004 under the chairmanship of Samdech HUN SEN, Prime Minister of Cambodia. According to the statement, the government planned to take land tax in Phnom Penh in the first phase then in other municipalities and provinces. Tax exemption in only for public property, real estate which is belong to community using for religious purpose, belong to foreign government, international organization approved by the government. The communiqué showed that a draft law on financial management for 2006 would strengthen the political stability and security toward the democracy and development as well as poverty alleviation.
