Traffic volume will be increased as waste collection vehicles will run on the national road No 303

o Widen the bridge No.1 (Phum Mul bridge)
o Improve the road surface quality with pavement.

Therefore, it should be considered.

Consideration for the socially vulnerable
When SMC disposal site is closed, more than 2,000 of waste pickers will lose their job
Therefore, it should be considered.

Air pollution
o construction vehicles will generate dust and exhaust gas. Significant quantities of dust may be generated during dry season.
Therefore, it should be considered.
o Waste collection vehicle will generate dust and exhaust gas. Significant quantities of dust will be generated because NR 303 has no pavement.
Therefore, it should be considered.
o Landfill fire may occur and caused large quantities of smoke and harmful gases, including dioxins.
Therefore, it should be considered.
o Landfill gas, mainly CH4 and CO2, will be generated also after the operation.
Therefore, it should be considered.

Water quality

The disposal site will generate leachate, and if it discharged into the river or canal or infilterated to the groundwater, they will be contaminated.
Therefore, it should be considered.
c. Closure
Leachate will continue to be generated after the termination of operation. Although generation rate is diminished with time, it should be considered.

Hydrological situation
a. Current condition
o several ponds are located in rainy season in and around the site, and villagers are fishing.
o The Prek Thnot river is running in the south of the site. Villagers living along the river are drinking river water.
o The groundwater is existed in and around the site. Villagers are drinking the groundwater.

Hydrological situation
o The disposal site will generate leachate, and if it is discharged into the river or canal or infilterated to the groundwater, they will be contaminated.
Therefore, it should be considered.

o Leachate will continue to be generated after the termination of operation. Although generation rate is diminished with time, it should be considered

Soil contamination
The site might be contaminated by the pesticides which contains Hg.
The disposal site will generate leachate, and if it is infilterated to the ground, soil contamination will occur.
Therefore, it should be considered.

Noise
Waste collection vehicle will generate noise in and around the site, and along the NR 303.
Therefore, it should be considered.

Offensive odor
o Organic waste disposed at the site will generate offensive odor. The compost plant in the site also will generate offensive odor. Therefore, it should be considered.

Fauna and Flora
o Neither endangered nor endemic species is identified in and around the site.
o After the termination of operation, the site should create new natural environment.
Therefore, it should be considered

Landscape
The site can be seen from the national road A303, from the village of Cheung Aek and from the village of Bakou.
Therefore, it should be considered.
